The PMBOK Guide is the global standard for project management, developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI). It provides a comprehensive framework for managing projects of any size, scope, complexity or domain. The PMBOK Guide has evolved over time to reflect the changes and challenges in the world of work and project management. The latest edition, the PMBOK 7, was released in 2021 and introduced some significant changes from the previous edition, the PMBOK 6.


The PMBOK 6 is based on 10 knowledge areas and 49 processes, constituting a fairly prescriptive and linear approach to project management. The PMBOK 7, on the other hand, adopts a more flexible and outcome-oriented approach to project management. It is based on 12 principles and eight performance domains that cover the different dimensions of a project. The PMBOK 7 also works with PMIstandards+ ™ for additional guidance on applying the PMBOK Guide in real-world scenarios.

We apply both the PMBOK 6 and 7 to every project we undertake, tailoring our project management approach to suit the specific needs and characteristics of each project and client. CBEC also follow the best practices and standards of project management as defined by the PMI and other reputable sources.
